주요 연구 분야

본 실험실은 식물의 발달에 주요한 역할을 하는 유전자들의 발현 조절이 어떠한 메카니즘에 의해 이루어지는지, 유전학적, 분자생물학적, 생화학적, 유전체적, 생물정보분석학적 접근 방법들을 다양하게 활용해 연구를 합니다. 특히, 최근에 많은 이슈가 되고 있는 유전자 교정기술 (CRISPR_Cas9 tools), 후성유전학 (Epigenetics)적 연구기법, 차세대시퀀싱(NGS)과 같은 기법들을 활용하고 생물정보학을 이용한 분석을 통해, 식물의 발달 및 생육이 환경에 의해 어떻게 후성유전학적 메커니즘으로 변화, 조절되는지를 유전체적 (genomics) 관점에서 밝히고자 합니다. 더 나아가 밝혀진 연구결과를 토대로 작물에 적용해 생육 및 상품성 등이 향상된 새로운 품종을 개발하는 연구를 하고자 합니다.
